Wetpour Repair

Wetpour Repair

Many people assume that once a Wetpour Repair is installed it will be maintenance-free, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Like everything else it needs regular care and attention to keep it in good condition and working order.

A wetpour surface is made up of small rubber granules which are bonded together with a polyurethane binder and then poured over tarmac to create a soft, safe playground surface that kids can fall on without getting any major injuries. The granules are also much softer than concrete so if a child were to fall on it, they would get less bumps and bruises than they would if they fell on hard ground.

The Importance of Timely Wetpour Repairs for Child Safety

Wetpour is usually installed in brightly colored shapes and designs to add interest and fun to the playground for children, but over time these can start to fade. Luckily this is easy to fix and can be done with a simple wetpour repair kit. These kits contain the perfect ratio of rubber granules and polyurethane resin binder so that you can easily fill in any rips or tears on your playground.

One common problem is that the edges of the wetpour can start to shrink away from the edge of the playground. This can cause a trip hazard for children so it’s important that this is fixed as soon as possible. Luckily this is very quick and easy to do with a wetpour ‘band repair’ which involves simply cutting around the existing edging and filling it back in with new wetpour.
